Before pickup: wash the car so condition is visible, remove toll transponders and personal items, leave roughly a quarter tank of fuel, and photograph the vehicle from all sides. At delivery, the driver completes a condition report on the bill of lading — walk the car, compare it to your photos, and note anything on the paperwork before signing. That document is what any later claim is judged against, so the two minutes matter.
