When that's the case, drivers typically ask to meet at a nearby shopping center, office park, or wide arterial road. It's a normal accommodation, not a service downgrade, and we flag likely spots when we quote your route.

Suburban sprawl and long drive times within the metro

Metro Atlanta stretches well beyond the interstate perimeter, from Alpharetta and Marietta in the north to Fayetteville and McDonough in the south. A carrier serving 'Atlanta' may be routing through several of these suburbs on the same run, so pickup windows can shift by a few hours depending on where your address falls relative to the driver's other stops. Being flexible on timing, especially during weekday rush periods around I-285, tends to keep things moving smoothly.

Corporate relocation and dealer traffic

Atlanta's concentration of corporate headquarters and logistics companies means a large share of shipments here are job relocations with fixed move dates. We also regularly coordinate dealer and wholesale transfers, since the metro has a dense cluster of dealerships and auction facilities. For relocation moves, booking two to three weeks ahead gives carriers more routing flexibility; auction and dealer pickups often move faster because lot staff are used to transport coordination.

Open transport handles most vehicles here

Open carriers are the standard choice for Atlanta shipments and offer the widest carrier availability on regional lanes running I-20, I-75 and I-85. Enclosed transport is worth the added cost for exotic or freshly restored cars, particularly if the vehicle will sit outside for any length of time before or after transport — Georgia's humidity and pollen season can leave a fine film on paint that some owners prefer to avoid entirely.

Inoperable and storm-affected vehicles

We regularly arrange transport for vehicles that don't run, including cars parked after mechanical issues or storm damage. A vehicle that rolls, steers and brakes can usually be winched onto a standard carrier; one that doesn't roll needs specialized equipment. Telling us the exact condition upfront avoids a refused pickup, which costs everyone time and can bump the vehicle to a later carrier.

Preparing your vehicle and checking it at delivery

Before pickup, clear the car of personal items, note existing wear with photos, and leave roughly a quarter tank of fuel. At delivery, walk the vehicle with the driver and compare it against your photos before signing the bill of lading — that document is the record any later claim gets measured against, so it's worth the few extra minutes even when the driver is in a hurry to get back on the road.
