These moves often come with less schedule flexibility than a typical relocation, so we work to book carriers as early as orders allow and can accommodate on-base or near-base pickup and delivery.

A full-size carrier may need to meet you at a nearby wider road rather than navigate some of these tighter residential blocks, which is routine rather than an inconvenience specific to your shipment.

San Diego's proximity to the U.S.–Mexico border occasionally comes up for vehicles connected to cross-border moves, though our service covers domestic transport within the U.S. If your situation involves a vehicle crossing into or out of Mexico, that requires separate customs and import handling beyond what a standard interstate shipment covers.

University and seasonal demand

UC San Diego and San Diego State both contribute to a seasonal bump in student vehicle shipments around the start and end of terms, similar to other college-heavy metros. Booking a bit ahead of move-in or move-out weekends helps secure a carrier during these busier periods.

Preparing for pickup and inspecting at delivery

Clear personal items from the vehicle, leave roughly a quarter tank of fuel, and photograph it before pickup. At delivery, walk the car with the driver and compare it to your photos before signing the bill of lading, since that paperwork is the reference point for any later claim.
