Central and West Austin, along with communities like Dripping Springs and parts of the Hill Country, have narrower, hillier roads than the flatter suburbs to the north and east. A full-size carrier can generally manage these roads, but steep driveways or low tree canopy sometimes make a nearby main road the more practical pickup spot — something we can flag ahead of time based on your address.

Tech relocation and university-driven demand

Austin's tech industry growth has meant a steady stream of relocation shipments, often tied to a job start date, alongside consistent demand from University of Texas students moving vehicles at the start and end of school terms. Booking ahead of a known move-in or move-out date, especially around August and May, generally gives carriers more scheduling flexibility.

Downtown and East Austin access

Downtown Austin and increasingly dense parts of East Austin have limited street parking and loading restrictions, similar to other growing urban cores. If your pickup or delivery address is in one of these tighter areas, a driver may prefer to meet at a nearby commercial lot rather than navigate a narrow residential block with a 75-foot rig.

Open transport for most vehicles

Open carriers handle the majority of Austin shipments and offer the widest availability on the I-35 corridor connecting Austin to both Dallas and San Antonio. Enclosed transport is worth the extra cost for lower-volume, higher-value vehicles, or if you want to avoid any road film accumulating during a longer cross-country run.

Inoperable vehicles and older cars

We regularly coordinate transport for vehicles that don't run, whether due to mechanical issues or simply because a car has been sitting in storage. As long as it rolls, steers and brakes, most carriers can winch it aboard; vehicles that don't roll need special equipment, so accurate condition details at booking prevent a wasted trip for the driver.

Preparing your car and checking delivery condition

Remove valuables and toll tags, keep the tank around a quarter full, and take clear photos before pickup. At delivery, compare the vehicle to those photos and note anything on the bill of lading before signing — that document is what any damage claim gets evaluated against, so a careful walk-around is worth the extra few minutes.
